Obtain and analyse the load vs time graphs and maximum

The load and loss factors are very important in the design of power distribution networks and the reconciliation of electricity purchases. Various methods have been proposed to empirically determine these factors. In this practical, you are provided with raw load data for many different types of end users. The Data is given in excel sheets for the different types of users which include Complexes (low end residents, bulk small residents etc.), office parks and others. Analyse all of the data provided. You are required to do the following:

• Research the different methods to determine load and loss factors as per literature through the creation of a body of knowledge. ?
• Analyse the data that is provided and present your results in the form of an IEEE paper. A template of the IEEE format is included. Maximum length of paper - 10 pages. Your analysis should detail the following: ?
- Typical loads per customer ?
- Opportunities for energy savings for the type of customer ?
- A full analysis of the load models. Describe difference per end user type. Justify your answers with analysis and research.

QUESTIONS THAT SHOULD BE ANSWERED IN THE PAPER

You are required to answer the following questions:
• What loads do you think contribute to each customers load profile?
• After analysing the data, should we consider changing the way in which we design power distribution networks for different types of customers?
• What research directions are being pursued incorporating detailed load profile information?
• How will distributed generation affect the load profile of various customer segments. You are allowed to state your assumptions.

You need to prepare at least 6 pages (double column IEEE format) of information (basically answering the questions in the document on analysing the data in excel sheets - based on loss and load factor).

Need your help to obtain and analyse the load vs time graphs and maximum demand for each case.

The likely data which can be discussed are

-plotting the time Vs load curve from the 30 min profile under each case
-max coincident demand
-demand factor
-utilisation factor
-load factor
-diversity factor
-coincidence factor
- reactive energy
-total energy
-power factor
-average demand
-maximum demand

These can be compared among the types of users to answer the questions.
