Instructions for Second Productivity and Management Paper
Objective: Performance measurement is used by leaders and managers to ensure that organizations are functioning to their optimal ability. The techniques are many and varied, as you will see from your readings in Hatry. For your second paper I want you to concentrate on some very special topic areas - "Mission Statements" and "Logic Models."
Steps: Choose a NYC government agency and program to work on.

Describe the agency and program you are reviewing.
Create a "Mission Statement" for the PROGRAM you are reviewing.
If a "Mission Statement" already exists, can you use Hatry to improve it?
Build a "Logic Model" for the program
Create performance measurement indicators to support the "Logic Model"
"I will use New York City Department of Transportation and the program of buses and ferries. The Buses and Bus Related Equipment and Facilities program is responsible for providing capital assistance for new and replacement buses, related equipment, and facilities."
Requirements: The paper must be a minimum of 6-8 pages, lines are to be double spaced and words should appear in 12 point Times New Roman font. Your paper should be appropriately cited throughout using APA format. Pay close attention to grammar, spelling and usage. Also, rely heavily on Hatry to guide your analysis.
