1) Note the vocabulary that Jacques Roumain uses and the associations he makes in Masters of the Dew to denote drought, dryness, etc. and divide them into groups or "lexical fields."
2) Same task, but with images of wetness, fertility, etc.
3) Now the hard part: how can some of the insights from Illich's H20 and the waters of forgetfulness help us understand Roumain's staging of the (spoiler alert!) discovery of the spring and of Manuel's encounter with Annaïse there? What is it that renders that site propitious to the kinds of activities that take place there?
