Saliva spreading - Temperature Relations in animals
The saliva spreading is employed by many rodents and marsupials when exposed to heat stress. They spread saliva on their limbs, tails, chest or other body parts for further evaporative cooling. After studying about the ways by which the Homeotherms gain heat or lose heat to keep their body temperature constant, we will study about the anatomical features that help the Homeotherms in maintaining their body temperature constant.
