Paper: Compare and Contrasting
Explanation: This paper will compare/contrast two (or more) images, ideas, characters, stylistic details, themes. The two stories are A Doll House and No Exit. I'll post a link of stories in this page to get the idea and you can find images, ideas, characters, stylistic details, themes for each story.
Nora and Mrs. Kristine Linde have parallel (or perpendicular) roles in A Doll House, how have their choices affected their lives? With themes: How does the idea of "escaping" or "exile" relate to No Exit and A Doll House?
Title and subtitle: The title is something catchy of your own creation and the subtitle explains very briefly what that paper is. Remember that the title of the novel or short story has already been taken.
Introduction: Catchy opening. Set the scene. Show what you will argue or explain.
Thesis: Please put your thesis in bold in the first paragraph.
Outside sources: You are encouraged to read the literary criticism in the book and to seek outside criticism on your topic.
Quotations: Use direct quotations from the texts, but specify page numbers according to MLA style. Paraphrase other critics' views, but give them credit.
Conclusion: Summarize your argument, but don't just repeat what you've already said.
Works Cited: Include a works cited page at the end; use MLA style.
Grammar: Please double check grammar, spelling, syntax, etc.
Recommendations: Avoid first and second person (I/we, you). Have classmates read through your paper to offer suggestions. Use the writing center.
Length: 800 words.
