Write up a 500–1000 word summary of what you learned from your observation session, using any references you like to the textbook material in chapter 6 or to The Nonverbal Dictionary cited above under Study Materials. Answer at least some of the following questions in your summary.
a. What categories of nonverbal communication were most prevalent in the observed greetings and good-byes?
b. Did you see any evidence of gender or cultural influences?
c. Is it easy or difficult to separate your observations of behavior from your interpretations of it? Explain. Why is this ability important?
d. How much confidence do you have that the meanings you assigned to the behaviors and relationships are accurate? Consider some alternative meanings.
