No business can survive without paying customers. The business must have a target market for their product to succeed. The price can be adjusted but key to having a profitable business is the development of a good customer base. There are businesses that survive without customers: non profits, state and federal agencies to mention a few. Some farms and farmers are subsidized so as to not target customers.
