Assignment -
My big idea for this paper is to spread awareness about the identity of a person who is living in a country other than from his home country and people make prejudices about his loyalty that he is only loyal to his home country.
Amin Maalouf has specifically talked about this issue in his article, "Deadly Identities", presenting the idea that fundamental belonging cannot stop a person from being loyal to his country of residence. I am also from a different country and living in United States by trying my best to be a good and loyal citizen of this country but if someone mistakes about my loyalty due to my race, religion and language then it will lead me to have the same extreme views about Americans that they are also racist. Amin is the best person to elaborate this idea because he has faced this type of prejudice from people around him
In second the idea of Amin Maalouf for his point that fundamental belongings because a person with two nationalities can hold loyalty with both countries and unless until he is made realized that he is alien in that country, he has a very rational and balanced conduct and behavior.
