Musical event project management
Woods Ltd are a company specializing in the special events. They specifically focus upon giving customized special events on behalf of major organizations. Companies in their portfolio includes: car manufactures, large retailing chains, sport goods manufacturers, and a national chain of health clubs.
Traditionally, they have provided their services from a city location. At present they have 1 base in the North West of England. They employ 1 Manager, 3 Assistant Managers, 8 Events Managers, 2 administration staff, and a number of special events employees on an as and when required (casual) basis.
They have recently been approached to provide a proposed one off event for a major music company. The proposed event is for a pop music concert. Guests rumored to be interested in performing are: Take That, Rhianna, and Jay Z.
Woods Ltd have employed you as a consultant to manage this one off special project.
As Project Manager responsible for the proposed pop concert, you are contracted at the feasibility stage (you can assume that the project is feasible). From a project management perspective outline the activities required to successfully manage this project, ensuring that it is on time, and within budget.
