Much of the chapters cover the idea of freedom - competing notions of liberty and slavery, restrictions on speech as well as the press. President John Adams believed that First Amendment should not be extended in all cases.
Today in America, we are entitled to these rights (freedom speech, assembly, press, religion). Do you agree that our rights to free speech and free press should be extended in all cases whatsoever? Or, should there be restrictions? Should Americans be able to leak government information to the American people? Should Americans be able to burn the flag, a Bible, the Qur'an? Why or why not?
