In the month of October, there were 78 murders and a record number of shootings; most of the violence was committed in African American communities. What do you believe must be done to stop or mitigate the killings and community violence that is destroying our city and neighborhoods?

Question 3. How does family disorganization play a role in motivating young people to join gangs? Does the fact that more than sixty per cent of African American families have no males in the household play a role in young boys joining gangs? If so, why?
