What are the three most important steps we should take to prevent terrorism in the U. S./around the world?
This is an interesting question. First and foremost the American public needs to ask itself where the balance needs to be between personal liberties and group safety. It would seem that America places individual liberty as the most sacred value and the safety of the group is secondary. Consider the recent examples of murders committed by drug dealers in the American states that border Mexico. Even though American citizens are being murdered, much of the nation has been outraged by Arizona's desire to crack down on illegal immigration and the drug and criminal gangs that roam the border. If we as a nation are unwilling to crack down on this kind of illegal behavior then I don't think we have the stomach to actually combat terrorism effectively.
