Modified components

In tests of the computer component, it is found that mean time between failures is 650 hours, with standard deviation of 52 hours. A modification is made which is supposed to raise reliability by raising the time between failures. Tests on sample of 50 modified components produce mean time between failures of 740 hours. At the .01 level of significance, test the claim that modified components have a longer mean time between failures.
