Today's American culture has a multitude of views on physical perfection and body modification through piercing and tattooing.

1. Researching the modern views of self esteem based on physical characteristics.

2. Reflect in a paper on how the views presented in either (or both) of these short stories are the same and/or different from the modern views.

3. Present five typed, double spaced pages of work for this paper, not including works cited page.

4. Use quoted material from at least three outside sources and from each story that I refer to in order to support and illustrate my exploration of this. These quotes must of course be properly documented within the text per MLA.
