You are to attend one of the talks of the keynote speakers at this event and take notes.  After the event, you are to write a 1500 word essay on the topic of the key note speaker.  You should consult library databases and resources and cite journal articles and take a position for or against what the speaker argued at the business expo.

On that worksheet, you are asked to explore how social and political events effected marketing communications during WWII.  Currently, the United Kingdom and United States have been at war in Afghanistan for the past ten years. 

Students are to select a product or service for the modern war economy and conduct a PEST analysis to discuss how recent events have affected modern communication efforts.  For example, SUV's are environmentally unfriendly, and yet, a lot of Americans purchase these vehicles for safety.  One theory is that there psychological marketing and communication on behalf of manufacturers to tap the fear produced in Americans by more than a decade of war. 

Take a position on a modern product and make a case for whether PEST factors are influencing how the product is marketed to the public. 

Make sure to take photographs of either your visit to the business exposition or the museum and include these photographs in the appendix to your report.
