Mock Company Case Study:
• The purpose of this paper is to create a mock company that manufactures server cabinets using 100% recycled materials and is directly marketed for data center environments. The company is located in Colorado Springs, CO. The company must have a set code of ethics which it follows, that it is environmentally sustainable, and that it is driven by definite ethical and environmentally sustainable goals and practices and should be written as outlined below:
• The paper is 7 double- spaced pages with 1” margin for all sides of the sheet. Paper should be written in this structure; Introduction, Background, Literature review, discussion, Conclusion, and References. At least 5 references must be used.
a. The paper will consist of the following three elements:
i. Company code of ethics
1. Develop a code of ethics that will govern your company and the industry in which your company operates. There may be a code of ethics for your industry (Information Technology) already, but you will be expected to develop original ideas for this the submission must be original. You may use an existing code of ethics as a framework, but this must be original.
ii. Company goals
1. Develop your company goals (think Triple Bottom Line, profit, environment, community). Detail your company goals and why these are your goals. These goals should relate to the overall sustainable focus your company should have.
iii. Company sustainable practices.
1. Describe in detail the sustainable practices you would use to implement/manufacture the product you have decided to develop as well as how you will implement these practices. You should consider the entire supply chain, from raw material harvesting to end use disposal as you create your sustainable practices.
