Nursing work has evolved tremendously over the last century and professionalism in nursing has been achieved over the recent years (Wall, 2013). The roles and responsibilities of the nurse continue to increase in response to the ever changing health care needs of the growing population and the challenges that these present globally. Advanced practice nurses (APN) are a vital part of the health care system around the globe especially in a community that is faced with a number of virus outbreaks. As depicted by Lowe et al.,(2012) healthcare agencies around the world are consistently faced with the challenge of providing high quality care to patients who are in great need. The rural areas are the most affected since there are no enough advanced practice nurses to deploy in those areas.
