Mill's conception of the sociological imagination is central to our course and to the discipline of sociology.
In your introductory paragraph pretend you are talking to your friends or family and briefly explain:
a. What is the sociological imagination
b. why/how is context important according to the sociological imagination, and
c. how does the sociological imagination help us to reframe personal troubles as public issue.
Explain these ideas fully in your own words and use original examples; do NOT quote the original author or your text for this part of the essay.
For the body of the essay, assess the information and apply it to your own life circumstances.
After you have explained the sociological imagination, give your own example of connecting your biography with history and your own example of connecting a personal trouble with a social issue (this should be two separate components).
The essay must be typed, 12-point font 1.5-spaced and a minimum of 3 pages in length. Please cite all sources and use quotes when appropriate
