Pick a company with which you are familiar. Write a report about it with the following sections:
1. Introduction - Give a brief overview of the company including its product or services, location, history.
2. Product -
a. Describe the product or product mix or service in more detail.
b. If a product/service, show a picture or diagram and/or an assembly drawing.
c. What created the opportunity for your product or service?
d. Do you make or buy your product or service? Why e. Where is the product or service in its life cycle?
3. Process -
a. Give an overview and flow diagram of the process, if your process is very complex, give an overview.
b. Is your process Continuous process, Assembly line, Batch flow, Job shop, or Project.
c. If a service, discuss customer interaction and process strategy.
d. Describe your company's safety program.
e. Does your company use visual signals/aids for communication? If so, describe them. If not, what are your suggestion & recommendation?
4. Location -
Explain why your business is located where it is.
Discuss issues pertinent to its location.
5. Supply-Chain Management -
a. What is the supply chain strategy for your company?
b. How is vendor selection/purchasing handled?
c. Discuss how the supply chain is managed.
d. Discuss materials management/distribution.
e. Is e-commerce applied in any form?
6. Give your recommendations & suggestions for improvements.
