Directions: As we have learned through the Expectancy Violations Theory, most people have expectations about the verbal and nonverbal elements of communication exchanges. Consider the scenarios below and list at least three verbal and/or nonverbal expectations that you have for the communication behaviors that should be used in each of the following situations. Be sure to consider the expectations you have for yourself and others as you think about each of the scenarios described. Expectations for the assignment include writing fifty to one hundred words explaining your responses with reference at least once to West and Turner.
