Meet the relational design criteria


1. Show an example of this relation for two students, one of whom has three siblings and the other of whom has only two siblings. Use a table in Word or use Excel to create these examples.

2. List the candidate keys in this relation.

3. State the functional dependencies in this relation. Use the notation from the chapter when stating these functional dependencies, i.e. ObjectColer -> Shape (p. 73).

4. Explain why this relation does not meet the relational design criteria set out in this chapter (that is, why this is not a well-formed relation).

5. Divide this relation into a set of relations that meet the relational design criteria (that is, that are well formed). Specify the type of final normal form for each the final relations. List the relations in the same format as the STUDENT relation above.
