Theoretical Review and Analysis of MIMO Systems in LTE-Advanced

Introduction

The objective of this Assignment is a theoretical review and analysis of multiple input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems in LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) mobile communication networks.

1. In the review analysis, coverage should include the theory and mathematical analysis of MIMO systems in general.

2. This should be followed by the analysis of MIMO systems in LTE-A.

3. The review analysis should include benefits and disadvantages in the use of MIMO systems in LTE.

4. Illustrative diagrams and system equations provided in your analysis should demonstrate the gains achieved using MIMO antennas in LTE networks.

5. Furthermore, signal transmission and reception techniques involving MIMO systems in LTE should be included.

Format of Reports

1. Reports must be submitted in Moodle

2. Use 10 to 12 font sizes (Times New Roman or Calabri font types)

3. The length of the report should not be less than 8 and not more than 10 single line-spaced pages, typed using an equation editor.

4. Type the equations and number them sequentially. Do not cut and paste equations.

5. Tables and Figures must have numbers and have captions

6. Referencing format must use the IEEE referencing format.

7. Use current literature from the IEEE Xplore journals in the MIT library. Avoid the use of Wikipedia for this assignment.
