Framing a social issue - Worksheet
1. Write down the title of the episode of Making Contact that you have selected for your social issue. (The episode you choose will be the topic you write about for both your Pre-Course Analysis Paper and your Post-Course Analysis Paper.)
2. Listen to the episode again. Take notes on the main points. I suggest you use the "Template for analyzing the logic of an argument" (Paul, 2008).
3. Write down a brief summary of each of the different social issues/ problems covered in the episode.
4. Of the social issues/ problems covered in the episode, select & write down the one problem that you care about most.
5. Using ideas & models from today's readings about "framing" a problem, write a brief statement framing the one social issue you've selected from your episode of Making Contact.
