matrix modifier methodgfaas is a much more

Matrix modifier method:

GFAAS is a much more sensitive as compared to flame AAS and requires a very small sample size. More so, it does not require any sample preparation; even solid samples can be analysed without dissolution. However, the background absorption effects are quite serious. These are commonly sorted out through diluting the sample or selecting another resonance wavelength line. In matrix modifier method a reagent is added to the sample that may modify the matrix behaviour and thereby tackle the problem of background. Many times the added matrix might modify the analyte also.
