Choose one of the following topics and develop it into an essay, using evidence from the text and three (3) secondary sources (either book or electronic academic journals). Papers must be at least six (6) full pages, but no more than eight (8) full pages. When citing from the text or secondary sources always introduce or lead into the quoted material with your own words, setting up the context for the quote and explaining its significance to your argument. After the quote and before the period, put the page number(s) from the text in parentheses, as in the following example:
2. Mary Rowlandson's account of her captivity not surprisingly contains passages that seem to vary or conflict in portraying her view of her captors. Write an essay discussing and accounting for these differences. (For this paper you might want to look for secondary sources with a psychological approach).
