Mary remembered her childhood as one in which she did not

Please help with case conceptualization

The case of Mary

Mary remembered her childhood as one in which she did not get the parental recognition that her siblings did. She summed this up in the core belief "I do not mess up". Consequently she developed a strong desire to please others during her childhood. Forty years later, she could not understand why work colleagues "didn't respect her". Her tactic was to try hard to please them and to win their respect. Unfortunately, as often happens with this tactic, it made colleagues irritated and actually less respectful of her.
