Martin attributes large-mammal extinction in the late Quaternary period to anthropogenic causes, specifically human hunting, while his opponents attribute the extinction to various other factors such as disease and climate change. Deciding between these two views is difficult as the evidence is in the past. Find another environmental controversy where anthropogenic causes are debated and decide if the results of that controversy are similar to different than those of Martin's.
