Many of you will graduate into jobs where you will be

Many of you will graduate into jobs where you will be expected to write narratives or executive summaries for your supervisors. The idea is that you will have done extensive research on a particular issue, policy, law, event, etc. Your supervisor and customer will not have the time to read through a lengthy document. Thus, you will often be asked to prepare a 1 to 2 page summary of the most salient points that you feel are necessary for your boss to know in preparation for a meeting or in making a decision. Essentially, your goal is to make your boss the smartest person in the meeting.

For this assignment, each student will conduct research on an organization in the intelligence community. In doing so, prepare an Executive Summary that summarizes three aspects of your agency:

1.) The origin and relevant key historical aspects of the agency, to include the circumstances and political environment in which the agency was created;

2) The role of the agency during the period of 1941 to 1989 and the specific customers the agency served during this period (from WWII to the end of the Cold War), and;

3.) The role of the agency post 9-11 including the customers it serves.

You are required to submit an Executive Summary that will be limited to two pages, double- spaced, Times New Roman 12pt font with no more than one inch margins. Additionally, you will need to include a third page listing all of the resources you used. You must utilize at least five different sources.
