Many fortune 1000 organizations do not have a formally articulated IT strategy. In the book it mentions that too many IT organizations lose sight of the fact that the only reason for their existence is to support the achievement of business objectives. Instead, they are busy trying to be a "world-class IT shop". Could their aspirations be a possible explanation for the absence of a formally articulated IT strategy in many of these companies?
