Manufacturing and Product Development Following Hurricane Katrina, the Make It Right New Orleans charitable organization helped to rebuild homes in the Ninth Ward. Recently, homeowners have complained that the wood used in construction cannot withstand the New Orleans humidity and is rotting and growing fungus. Make It Right has blamed the company that supplied the lumber, which was guaranteed for 40 years.27 A sample of rebuilt homes in the Ninth Ward was obtained, and each was carefully inspected for good (G) or bad (B) wood.
