Thirty furniture manufacturers in the United States recently asked U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) to impose high tariffs on Chinese manufacturers of wooden products in U.S. market with extremely low prices. U.S. manufacturers claimed that Chinese imports single-handedly sent their industry into deep tailspin. Chinese factory owners contend their low-cost furniture is result of taking labor-intensive product and making it with low-priced workers in high-tech modern factories.
