Make the 3 operational definitions clear and easy to

Instructions

1. Write an “Operational Definition” for each of the three situations below.

2. Make the 3 “Operational Definitions” clear, and easy to understand.

Prepare “Operational Definitions” for the following three (3) scenarios:

A. On-Time Departures: A consumer organization wants to rate airlines on how successful they are at meeting the departure schedule as put forward by airports. But before the organization can start it needs an operational definition of when exactly the airplane is considered to have departed.

B. Customer Complaints Reduction: A fast food restaurant wants to reduce the number of complaints it receives. It needs an operational definition of what exactly is meant by a complaint before it can start to measure it.

C. On time delivery for a piston manufacturer: An independent automotive service organization wants to be able to assess the “on time delivery” performance of several original equipment piston manufacturers. An example of a typical piston order is as follows: The piston manufacturers get an order for 6000 pistons to be delivered to the customer on 02/26/2014. The service organization needs an operational definition to establish what exactly constitutes an on time delivery.
