The two big, parallel, conducting plates are 16 cm apart and encompass charges of equivalent magnitude and opposite sign on their facing surfaces. The electrostatic force of 5.4 x 10-15 N acts on an electron positioned anywhere among the two plates. (Avoid fringing).
