In this learning activity we are going to look more closely at Environmental Scanning and Industry Analysis. As our authors; Hunger, Wheelen, Hoffman, Bamford (2015) have pointed out for review, "Environmental scanning is the monitoring, evaluating, and disseminating of information from the external and internal environments to key people within the corporations" (p. 92). There are three variables in environmental scanning that influence manager's decision-making; natural, societal and task environments.
Let's take a look first at natural environmental scanning. Can you define a natural environmental factor that might these physical resources impact a health care facility? Please give an example?
