Loop antennas are very common and are often used by amateur radio sites. In fact, the figure on the right is provided as an example what one may find when searching for loop antennas on the web.
For this problem, the student will find the electric field at P, a distance z above the center of a loop antenna with an angularly dependent line charge density. Certain limited assumptions may be made to reduce the difficulty of the problem, however points will be given based on how close the student comes to the exact answer.
