Listen to the lecture entitled "Religion" and read the section of your book from the "Growth of New England" to "Settlers and Natives", in order to respond. Then write a one page response to the following: Why were the Puritans intolerant of people who had dissenting views, even though they had been persecuted in England? What happened as a result of their intolerance? Finally, do you think it is contradictory that many settlers came for fish, not God?
