Assignment: Dark Ages Research Project and Diorama
• Pick a topic (Study history from about 200-1500 depending on topic)
o Maya and Aztecs
o Umayyad's and Abbasids
o Chinese (Tang, Song or Ming Dynasty) and Mongols
• Information to find
o Find a map of the two empires and explain the geography (land and water features, weather, etc.)
o Summarize the history of the empires in a paragraph: basic information only (copy/paste = 0)
a) List 5 Interesting facts about each empire
Level 4: Pick one of your two civilizations and create a diorama in a shoe box (or similar)
- Diorama should recreate a scene you may have found from the time period.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
o The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
o The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
