List and explain the five stages of change. What stage are you at in regards to your own exercise program and explain why? (50-100 words) Refer to page 4 of The Essential Guide to Fitness.

 Pre-contemplation, Contemplation, Preparation, Action & Maintenance.

 Pre-contemplation is the stage where a client has no intention to change their behaviour. It is the stage where they consider starting a exercise program although they may wish to excersie so they look good and feel better it is very different from actually considering to excersie in the next six (6) months.

Contemplation is the stage where the client seriously considers making a change to start exercise but without making a commitment to start exercising, as no time  has been allocated.

Preparation is the stage where small behavioural changes are being made. They are physically looking for a gym which suits their lifestyle.

Action is the stage where it involves actually doing the excerise program a few times a week in order to reduce body fat.

Maintenance is the stage where they are preventing relapse into a non-exercising lifestyle. It is important for maintaining the gains.

I am at the preparation stage because my gym membership recently expired and I am looking for a new gym to join.

3. Explain the function of the following

a. Cell membrane - encloses all cell contents. It has a speacail ability to allow the exact amount of required substances like glucose into the cell and rejects the rest which isn't require.

b. Mitochondria is the power plant of the cell as it supplies the body with its energy in a form of a molecule called ATP (adenosine triphosphate.) ATP breaks down to release stored energy when needed.

c. Nucleus is the organelle within the cytoplasm that contains the genes of the cell that can be describe as the controlled centre of a cell.
