Let's look at technology as a factor. Technology affects the delivery and quality of care, by far we have exceeded anything from the past. Prior to 2001 there were over 400 different methods to send an insurance claim, now we use only 3 coding systems to do that. Also throughout the federal government we have regulations to ensure privacy and secure of the electronic claims sent as well as for the patient. Information is now more available and accessible than ever, the ease allows for a smooth transition for the patient, and much faster test results. A short term investment now will lead to long term goals being met.
Do you see a difference with healthcare workers technical skills and technology as the ages shifts of the workers employed in the field? We have a learning curve now with those individuals that are not completely exposed to technology in society.
