Let h highest age in the sample for samples of size n 10

Use the data in the GSS-93 dataset on the companion website for this exercise. One of the questions asked was age in years. A five-number summary for age is 18, 32, 43, 58, and 89.

a. Draw a boxplot of the ages for the entire dataset.

b. Let H = highest age in the sample for samples of size n = 10. Explain whether any of the rules given in this chapter provide information about the sampling distribution of H.

c. Simulate 200 samples of size 10, and find H for each one. Create a histogram for the 200 values of H.

d. Using the histogram in part (c) and any other numerical or graphical information you wish to provide, describe the sampling distribution of H.
