Lauren is a quality engineer who faces a moral dilemma. Lauren’s company recently received the task of designing a device that would be integrated into another company’s product. While Laura conducted the test, the results have shown that the product does not meet the quality standards agreed upon by only a slight margin. Laura’s general manager told her to push it through anyways because the risk is not great enough to delay mass production and not worth jeopardizing a huge contract. Laura spoke to her immediate supervisor who works under the general manager. He also advocated to push the product through to production. Laura has to make the decision of signing a report that she knows is fraudulent or she can approach upper management which will most likely affect the relationship that Lauren has with her immediate boss and even prevent the success in the company.
