Assignment Tasks
With the background in mind, this assignment requires you to imagine that the FRDC has approached your group with the following project brief:
Develop a logistics strategy for one of the FRDC seafood sub-supply chains which leverages boat to plate traceability and provenance information technologies to address national research priority one in the context of the five megatrends.
The logistics strategy must have traceability and provenance as the information technology solution.
It must describe all strategic logistics factors impacting the information technology including:
customer service, channel design, network strategy, logistics (warehousing, transportation and materials), organisation and change management.
The recommended strategy must also be designed to specifically suit the sub-supply chain fish species from boat to plate.
This is will vary depending on sub-supply chain /fish species as the customer is different, as well as the way the supply chain logistics and information technology operate.
As such, the group will need to undertake some targeted research into the sub-supply chain to determine the customer profile, specific logistical activities in the supply chain, and relevant traceability/provenance technologies to match.
