Kind of population should the sample

When a procedure for manufacturing ball bearings is operating correctly the mean weight of the ball bearings produced is 5 ounces. It is claimed that in this particular case the procedure is defective and that the mean weight is significantly larger than five ounces.

a.) Determine the appropriate Ho ( null hypothesis) and Ha (alternative hypothesis)

b.) A random sample of 16 ball bearings was found to have the mean weight of 5.038 ounces and standard deviation of 0.10 ounces. Test if the "claim" can be supported using the t-test. Employ a rejection region with α=0.01

c.) Determine the P-value of your test in (b) [ i.e approximate it by placing it between two values.]

d.) What kind of population should the sample have come from in order that t-test be valid?
