Read the following scenarios. Keeping in mind this week's readings and videos, as well as your experiences, respond to one of the two scenarios.
Scenario 1:
Kevin is a four-year-old in your preschool class or mental health organization. He enjoys building with blocks for long periods each day. Kevin's mom worries that he plays too much and has asked you to teach him math and language or socialization skills. Drawing on Piaget's work, how can you respond in a supportive and informative manner to this parent why block building is an important part of learning and development? Are there any suggestions you could make to the parents for working with Kevin at home?
