It is time to re-emphasize the traditional methods and measurement courses within our education system. Business still needs to know how long it takes to produce its products and provide its services. Business still must schedule work through the facility; business still must maintain appropriate inventory levels; business still must determine a fair day's wage for a fair day's work; business still must measure how effectively it uses its resources; and business still must determine how much it costs to produce each product or each service it produces. We cannot do this without trained, qualified engineering personnel.
