It is great when the leadership can share details with the team. There should be a consistent flow of information in both direction. Here is the challenge, the leadership can only share certain information, the team has to be patient enough and trust the leadership team to know they are leading them in the right direction. The burden is really on the leadership team to disseminate the information in a timely, clear, and effective manner. Believe me this can be very difficult for leaders to do.
Next the team need to also be very clear, timely and concise on their questions and messages to the leadership team. In a lot of cases the teams are afraid to ask questions of the leadership team. However, the team will talk amongst themselves about these questions and this is where incorrect assumptions are often made since the team is not working off of the facts but assumptions.
