Question: It has been discussed in the introduction that reaction-diffusion models (RDM) have been used to provide explanations of many observed phenomena, such as the generation of patterns covering models of animals, how ash forms, how water seeps through rocks, how cracks spread in a solid, and how the lightning discharges. Cellular automata can be considered as discrete-counterparts of RDM. Discuss.
