Read the Forum material posted on Moodle regarding Cultural Relativism and Moral Judgments (it is posted above this forum in a word document). Express your ideas about whether you think anthropologists have a moral obligation to point out dangerous or questionable moral practices in a culture, or whether in the interest of being objective scientists they should withhold criticism and view questionable practices as simply being maladaptive, noting that all cultures have practices that are not beneficial to all individuals. Do you believe in strict cultural relativism, or do you think anthropologists should pass judgments? Is there a middle ground in this debate, and if so, under what circumstances and using what criteria would you draw the line between the two sides?
