Assume that law enforcement has probable cause to believe that John has a gun in his vehicle. Further assume that they do not have probable cause to believe that there is anything else illegal in the vehicle. Law enforcement find an an Altoids breath mint tin, which is about the size of a credit card, on the passenger floorboard. They open the tin and find a small amount of cocaine inside the tin.
