Is kinetic energy conserved in the collision

A bullet of 15.0 g traveling 213 m/s in a vertical direction buries itself in a 2.40 kg block of wood at rest directly above it in a fully inelastic collision. As a result, the bullet block combination moves vertically upward. (i) Find out the velocity of the bullet/block combination after impact. (ii) Find out the maximum height reached by the bullet/block combination. (iii) Is kinetic energy conserved in this collision? Explain why or why not?
